About jKool Online

Transaction Level Visibility
jKool Online from Nastel monitors any application, whether in development or production, running in a J2EE environment. It gives you complete, click-by-click visibility into all of your J2EE and SOA applications. jKool gives you transaction level visibility with on-demand drill down to the Java Message Service (JMS), Java Database Connectivity (JDBC), method calls and servlets to speed root cause identification.

Rapid Problem Isolation and Resolution

jKool breaks down the total execution time by each layer of an enterprise application - web, database, business logic - instantly revealing the source of any bottleneck with precision, even down the method call level. This enables instant isolation and rapid resolution of any performance-related problems.  With jKool you can monitor all of your web-based application transaction flows in real time to eliminate performance and availability issues -- before they impact your operations.

Unique, Click Stream Approach
jKool uses a unique and innovative time-based approach to performance monitoring and user activity tracking. A user’s transaction flow is treated as a discreet session. jKool traces the click-stream from beginning to end within the context of that session, using Nastel’s innovative, non-intrusive technology to trace a user’s path and measure performance. It automatically attaches performance information such as JVM usage to each click to evaluate performance in real time. With its low-overhead design and out-of-the-box functionality, jKool is ideal for trouble-shooting applications in development and QA as well as tracking them in live production environments.

Online Historical Record
jKool Online logs each session historically, creating a comprehensive record of critical performance metrics such as response times and exceptions. You can access this on demand to see a clear picture of exactly what was happening at any specific day and time.

jKool lets you choose how you want to view your application performance data. You can select the servers or applications you’re responsible for. You can see a user session in real time, or you can select the full Application View, Query View for specific drill down, or see a snapshot of a given day or time with the Point In Time View. The convenient Session View lets you choose to see detailed information about the performance of Java Server Pages, Java Servlets, Enterprise Java Beans (EJBs) and objects with JDBC and JMS access.
